Thanksgiving 2012

Our thanksgiving was full of love, gratitude, and food.  We truly are blessed to be surrounded by so many good cooks.

The day before Thanksgiving, Ben was invited to a "Friendship Feast" at Emma's preschool.  He was so excited about the feast that he woke up bright and early that morning to get ready.  He even had me pack him a bag to put his "homework" in.  They put on a little program and we dined on turkey sandwiches and pie.

We spent Thanksgiving Day at the Cruzan's.  Lyla spent her first Thanksgiving stuffing every nook and cranny of her belly with yummy turkey and potatoes.  We also took the time again to prepare for Black Friday shopping.  This year was awesome because we never actually went to bed, which allowed us to finish early and still get a good night's sleep.  Trenton and I used massive restraint this year, but we were still very productive and almost completed our Christmas shopping that night.  But before starting our shopping extravaganza, we headed over to the Foote's for another delicious turkey dinner with my family.  It was warm, and quiet, and relaxing.  It really was the perfect welcome to the holidays.

On Friday, we recovered from our night of shopping by watching the Huskers play. I also couldn't resist doing a little more shopping, and then we welcomed the Christmas season by pulling our decorations out.  It was wonderful.

The day was pretty much perfect...
