Easter Party 2011

We had a really fun little Easter party this year. I am big when it comes to traditions, and this is the third year we've hosted the egg hunt. I love that Emma is getting to the age where she'll remember this! I am also loving the additions (welcome Baby Ian!)

I went a little crazy this year with the eggs. Just a little. Thank you Julie for coming up with such awesome hiding places!

I was really impressed with how competitive Emma was this year.

Ben had no interest in collecting eggs. He just picked them up and said, "Ball!" and threw them.

The weather was pretty cruddy this year over Easter weekend. It rained most of that Saturday morning, and snowed heavily that evening. But for those brief 20 minutes during the hunt, there were blue skies.

Just as with Halloween candy, I have such happy memories of coming back from Easter egg hunts and counting how many I found.

Laurie made the adorable bunny lollipops. I think these were my favorite part of the entire party!

Later that evening we joined the entire Foote family for Carol and Norman's 50th surprise party. It was so hard seeing them all day and not spilling the beans. I think they were genuinely surprised though. I didn't manage to get a picture of Carol and Norman together that night, but Trenton took some photos that I thought were worth sharing.

Photo Shoot

Trenton came home from work the other day with a cache of prizes that he had won. My favorite was the Nikon D3100 digital camera. When would I ever have the fun money to just go out and buy myself one of these? The answer is never...if you were wondering. I think my favorite part about the camera is that the shutter time is so minimal I can catch my kids in action.

Example...

The camera actually caught Emma reacting to being smacked in the face. Precious.
