July Picnic

On our way home from church last Sunday, we decided on a whim to take the kids for a picnic at Fox Run.  It was perfect.  We found some shade under a giant pine tree and did nothing much at all.
It really was a perfect day.  I wish we could have more of those, instead of the usual sick stomach-whiny-"I'm bored!"- "How are we going to make the money stretch this month?"- "I don't want to go to work tomorrow." kind of days.  But I guess it's the mundane that makes these special picnic type of days so wonderful.

Speaking of wonderful, we have a new family of finches living in the nest outside the kitchen window.  This time I actually had the once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the babies as they began hatching!

Mud Run

I am proud of Trenton.  For a lot of reasons.  But most recently because he has started running races again.  This health kick he's been on is proving to be more than just a kick.  He's improving everything about his overall health and really pushing his body, mind, and spirituality to limits he's admitted he didn't think he could.  And I really appreciate this.  Especially because he helped me bring three other little people into this world that are relying on him to be around for a loooong time.  We are so proud of you, Trenton.  And we love you very much.

The Knot Tying

After over twenty years together, Laurie and Darrel "Tied the Knot."  They held the ceremony at their house- it was short and sweet and followed by a BBQ with friends and family.  It was especially memorable, because Darrel's son Mike was the one that married them.  We are all so happy for them.  Especially after the year they have had after the accident- they deserve all the love in the world.  Congrats guys!
