Gonna Make a Pie with a Heart in the Middle...

I recently watched "The Waitress", which is a precious movie about a woman who deals with the emotional roller-coaster of an unexpected pregnancy. She is a waitress at a diner where she makes all the pies from scratch, daily. She is obsessed with pies and turns events in her life or feelings she is experiencing into a new recipe. Some examples of these pies are,"I Hate My Husband Pie", or "Bad Baby Pie", or "Falling in Love Pie". When she's baking, she enters this really relaxed mindset and it reminds me of myself when I'm in the kitchen. She even sings this lullaby type song as she's mixing the batter, "Baby you and I...gonna make a pie...gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle", and I can't help but sing it when I'm making my own pie. Tonight I made this..."I'm So Glad I'm Not Throwing-Up Anymore Pie".

One thing I regret about my pregnancy with Emma is not taking more pictures of my early months. You always see these awesome progressive pictures of pregnant women so I figured I'd give it a try this time around. This picture was taken tonight and I am 16 weeks...

Emma went for her 15 month, well-baby appointment this week and she is growing beautifully. She is 20 pounds 16 ounces and has grown a little over a foot since she was born. One new development that I am adoring is her more abundant hair. I was actually able to get it into one ponytail-although I didn't manage to capture it with the camera before she took it out. This is a picture of Aunt Shannon and Emma with her newly pony-pulled hair...

Emma's favorite treat is a giant dill pickle. Don't let her size fool you either...she can eat one of those things all by herself.

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the warmer weather.
Until next time
Love,
Janet, Trenton, Emma, Baby, and Gary
