9 Months

At the end of her eighth month, Lyla decided it was time to start crawling.  She was pretty shaky at first, but now gets from one side of the room to the other in a few seconds.  She has also been pulling herself up and cruising along furniture so confidently, I'm sure walking won't be far behind.  She got to experience her first Thanksgiving and helped us decorate her first Christmas tree.  She's in the 90th percentile for height and 40th for weight.  When the doctor came in for her well baby check, he had accidentally mixed those two numbers up.  When I corrected him, he looked her up and down, pinched her chubby cheeks and jokingly said, "Well- if she's only 40th percentile, then there are a lot of fat babies in this world."  I happen to adore her chubbiness.  Also new to this month is that Lyla finally has enough hair for me to pull into tiny little piggies.  It's a stretch, but possible.  Currently, her favorite foods are bananas and carrots.  This is my favorite baby age.  She is so squishy, and snugly, and smiley, and silly.
