Emma's First Camping Trip

Ward Camp-out 2010

Emma was in her own little heaven on her first camping trip. Grandma had Ben overnight so I think Emma especially appreciated having us to herself. She also loved making S'mores, going potty outside, and cuddling in her very own sleeping bag.

I'm so proud of my pregnant sister for "roughing" it in the wilderness.

You Are My Sunshine!

Benny had a sunshine themed 1st birthday. He's my little summer baby and it only seemed appropriate. We had a picnic at Fox Run and couldn't have asked for a more perfect, sunny afternoon. We had a great turn out of friends and family. Thanks guys for making his first so special!

I saw these sunshine cupcakes in a magazine and I had to try them. Aren't they adorable? The trouble was finding candy corn at the beginning of August. I think this was the first time I was grateful that the store put out their seasonal stuff prematurely.

Laurie made this darling cake just for Ben. He had a blast diving into it, and then we handed the forks out to the rest of the kids at the party and they had free reign over the remains of this poor cake. It was awesome.

On his actual birthday we celebrated at the Olive Garden and enjoyed yet another delicious cake. I can hardly believe that Emma's 3rd birthday is only a few short months away. How is this possible? I love my little guy so much. I just took him to the doctor today and he weighs 20 lbs 10 oz, which puts him in the 10% for weight. I still don't even understand how that's possible with all that chub chub! He measured at 29 in, which is 50% for height. It will be so fun seeing how he turns out. Happy 1st Birthday handsome!

Trenton's Birthday and White Fence Farm

We celebrated Trenton's 28th Birthday with dinner and a movie. It was also Christy's birthday so we enjoyed celebrating with her too.

We also enjoyed a country style dinner with Steve's family at the White Fence Farm in Denver. This place is so fun- they have a petting zoo, a playground and tree house for the kids, plenty of shopping and you can take a tour in a horse-drawn carriage.

We were so blissfully unaware that evening that the very next day would catapult us into one of the most stressful summers we've ever experienced. On the way home from Denver both our cars overheated, the Honda needed a new head gasket, a pipe burst in our bathroom, we found mold, our roof needed to be replaced, our TV broke, Trenton got a speeding ticket, I needed surgery, we all got Fifths Disease, and I miscarried. Hopefully we're good on the bad stuff for a while. The positive side to all this is that we survived and we learned a lot, and we all still love each other.
