Busy 5 Years

Trenton and I have been married for 5 years. I couldn't be happier, or more in love. What did I do to deserve this life?

It's been a busy little bunch of years!

Easter 2010

Easter was a beautiful, sunny day this year. The Easter Bunny was generous and we enjoyed spending the morning listening to General Conference. Grandma Laurie had very fun baskets waiting at her house, as well as a delicious meal. We ended the peaceful day with my family for dinner. Definitely my favorite Easter so far.

Easter Party

In preparation for Easter, my mom and I made a trip the commissary. Peterson Air force Base recently built a new commissary and it's more of a mall than a grocery store. I have memories of going to the commissary with my mom every week while I was growing up, and she would take hours coupon clipping and price comparing. I can still feel the pain in my lower back and feet from standing so long. Emma and Ben can attest that not much has changed since I was their age when shopping with my mom.

I LOVE Easter. Next to Christmas, it is my favorite holiday. I kicked the holiday off by hosting this month's cooking club. I feel so lucky to have made such awesome friends. What makes it even better is that they can cook!

Trenton and I also enjoyed having some friends and family over to dye and hunt for Easter eggs. The sight of all the adorable children hunting for eggs was heavenly. To me, it was the first true breath of spring.

For the loli-flowers you just cut three hearts out of your favorite craft paper, punch a whole in the center and stick the loli-pop in the center. Secure at the base with a bow.

Casa Bonita

I was so excited to take my baby girl to Casa Bonita in Denver. I grew up going there and even the smell of the restaurant brings me joy. It's just one of those comforting places that never changes. Emma enjoyed playing with her cousins and then we all stayed in a hotel in Denver. We took the kids swimming, played games, and stayed up until 3 (the adults...not the kids).

In case you were wondering, we are the worst parents in the world. We took Emma through the haunted cave. She's two. Surprisingly, she made it through the entire cave with a smile on her face until we arrived upon this. For all she knew, she was actually going to be eaten by a giant snake. I'd freak out too!

Ben went swimming for the first time and LOVED it. He splashed, and kicked, and looked adorable in his swim trunks.
