Denver Botanic Gardens 2013

This July, Trenton actually took a day off of work.  He didn't just work from home, or take a long lunch, or work a half-day.  He finally gave into my requests for an entire day away from the office, his phone, laptop, etc.  We took advantage of the sunny weather at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  This place really is my heaven on earth, with its rainbow of flowers, emerald grass, umbrellas of mature trees, and cool fountains.  The entire park smells like summer.
I'm so thankful our kids enjoy being outside.  There weren't any playgrounds or rides, but they never once complained of being bored, and they genuinely enjoyed exploring all the different paths and themed gardens.

Emma's favorite part of the day was when we huddled under a flower-laced brick gazebo to escape the heat as we put sunscreen on.  She sat in this window, imagining that she was a princess inside her castle.
