Winter Park

We were lucky enough to be invited to Trenton's friend Nash's wedding this weekend up in Grandby, Colorado.  I say we were lucky because it was the most gloriously scenic drive up there, quite possibly the most romantic wedding location and ceremony, and definitely the most relaxing weekend with my husband in Winter Park.

The only negative was having to take a ski lift up to the top of the mountain for the wedding.  The fear of heights has haunted me since my family first visited the Grand Canyon.  My theory is that I'm tall and have farther to fall.  But I did get on the lift, and my reward for facing my fear was immediate because the view was amazing!

Trenton and I stayed at the Village in Winter Park, CO.  It's a ski town, so the hotel was drenched in coziness.  It was nestled in a forest of white-lit trees and we had a fireplace and simmering hot-tub waiting for us to soak our tired dancing feet in when we got back from the wedding.

It's Your Time To Shine "Punkin-Pie"

It has been chilly and raining all afternoon. I have a pumpkin caramel candle burning and I'm about to put a butter and brown sugar stuffed acorn squash in the oven for dinner. It is feeling a little like Autumn!

A Walk Along "Pretty Lane"

Yesterday, Trenton and I took the kids for a walk around some of our favorite neighborhoods.  I was hoping the leaves would have changed more by now- it was still very summery.  This is one of my dream houses down by the Broadmoor.  I have always loved this home.  You can't tell, but just within that bay window there is a grand piano.  Also, when we were taking this picture there were three baby deer alseep just around the side of the home.  So sweet.

Later that day, we decided it was time to harvest our beets.  Emma pulled the red streamers out of the birthday drawer and decorated the entire house for a "Beet Party."  They were yummy, but more work than they were worth here in Colorado Springs.  It was fun to give it a try, but I think next year we will stick with more productive fruits and vegetables.  I do have to admit- It's pretty awesome to have a husband that enjoys gardening.  We've been learning a lot together and doing what we can with what little land is ours.

Chatfield

We have been enjoying the most gorgeous fall weather these past few days.  Trenton and I can hardly wait until the weekends when we can get out and enjoy it.  On Saturday we went up to Denver to celebrate Taylor's 2nd birthday.  The kids had so much fun in the canoe.  I love Colorado.
