Emma's First Field Trip

Miss Maydra took Emma's class to the grocery store for a guided tour for their first field trip.  Who knew the grocery store could be so exciting?  They learned about produce- where and how the various fruits and vegetables are grown, shipped, and stocked.  Then they got sliced apples to sample. The next stop was the deli, where they enjoyed a huge chunk of cheese.  Then they got to visit the inside of the bakery and see how an industrial bread slicer works.  The kids also toured where all the food is unloaded from the trucks, and see the process of unpacking and pricing the food.
And finally, they visited the florist, who gave them each their very own rose.
