My kids seeing the ocean for the first time was the as magical for them as I'd always hoped it would be. I'll never get the adorable sound of their laughter as the water reached their toes out of my mind. For our first night in California, we stayed in Oxnard right next to the ocean. It was heavenly falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Then we spent the next few days exploring everything along the Pacific Coast Highway.
