Happy Easter 2013!

It would be an understatement to say that this truly was the best Easter ever.  How could it not be?  We had perfect weather, lots of wonderful friends and family, sweet babies, massive amounts of chocolate, and chickens.

Emma, Ben, and Lyla enjoyed dying eggs with their cousins at Doug and Christy's the Friday before.  By the time we were done, the entire table was a beautiful mess of color, paint, and glitter.

On Saturday we had our annual Easter party and egg hunt.  I went to all the craft stores around town the day after Easter last year and stocked up on even more eggs to hide, and I'm glad I did, because this year proved to be our busiest so far.  It was sunny and nearly 70 degrees- almost like the day was encouraging us to get out and soak in it.  And everyone was happy to do just that.  Thank you so much to all the friends and family that joined in to make the day special.  And thank you for bringing such fun and springy treats!

That evening, we all headed up to Zio's for Ashley's birthday.  Ashley is obsessed with piggies, so Heather made a precious piggie cake for her.  I just love it so much!  After the party, Heather and Shannon and I snuck in some sister time and did a little shopping.  I so desperately wish she could move back so times like this could happen more frequently.

Finally it was time for the Easter Bunny to visit.  We woke up on Sunday to a burning sun, singing robins, and baskets overflowing with chocolate other sweets.  When the kids walked out of their rooms, there was a trail of crystal eggs leading them to their baskets.  Watching them evaluate the goods in their baskets made every miserable minute of my pregnancies worthwhile. The sweetness factor in our living room on Easter morning was borderline unbearable. I am so thankful to be rich with a wealth that can't be spent.

After church, we headed over to Laurie's for lunch and an egg hunt.  She happily spoiled each one of them.  We finished the day off with my family.  We enjoyed yet another egg hunt and a delicious ham for dinner.  Everyone seemed to be especially happy.  This Easter was perfection!  While I did enjoy our time with family, I can easily say my favorite moment was when we all crawled into bed at the end of the day so Trenton could read to us.  Heaven.
