There are very few places on this earth that are happier than a children's museum. Wouldn't you agree? What other place can you simultaneously be a firefighter, an artist, a grocery shopper/clerk, a chef, a veterinarian, an astronaut, and a master bubble creator?

Halloween 2013
The week of Halloween was filled with all sorts of fun. Ben had his "orange and black" themed party at preschool, where he got to make spooky crafts and snack on yummy treats. That evening, the family met over at my mom's to carve pumpkins. The kids always love going over there because Grandma really gets into decorating her house for Halloween.
On the big day, Ben, Lyla, and I were lucky enough to watch Emma's Halloween program at school. They sang songs for the parents, told ghost stories, and then we shared lunch together. I love being a mom.
Trenton cracked us all up when he decided to dress up as "Richard Simons" at the gym that morning. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Ha ha ha.
We went Trick or Treating down on Wood Avenue, which is part of the historic district in Colorado Springs. The homes are very old and very big, which makes for some entertaining and spooky trick or treating. Once we were back home, the kids had fun lighting their jack o lanterns and sorting their candy. That's one of my favorite memories when I was a kid. I'd come in from a cold night of trick or treating, my hands still frozen, and dump all my candy on the floor to count. It's fun to watch my own kids do the same.
