Odds and Ends

I am doing a bit of catching up so this is more of an odds and ends post. I'm probably the only one who cares, but I thought I'd throw that in there in case you were uncomfortable with the randomness of this particular post.

Emma is 29 months now. She weighs 26 pounds, eats mostly cheese and noodles, describes all her actions with song, and loves to dance. As we're leaving her room at night she is always sure to say, "You'll leave the door open. Okay?" Her favorite part of the day is when Ben finally wakes up and she gets to play with him. There have been many mornings lately that she mysteriously ends up in bed with us, and when we ask her about it she says, "Emma wanted to cuddle." Oh-that's another thing...she always refers to herself in 3rd person. Whenever we walk outside she joyfully exclaims, "It's beautiful outside!" One of her other favorite things to say is, "Emma doesn't want to." She adores her baby brother, and whenever we're taking him to bed she wishes him a, "Goodnight baby brother." She loves naked time. She also loves playing with her cousins. Sometimes she combines the two. She is most definitely, 100%, 2. She wants to be a fighter pilot when she grows up. She can't get enough of her grandparents.

Ben is 9 months now. He weighs 19 pounds 4 oz. He is the happiest, most smiley baby I've ever met. He says Mama, Dada, and Hi. He waves, plays patty-cake, and loves when we play peek-a-boo with him. He hasn't quite learned how to crawl yet, but he manages to get around. He can stand indefinitely and I'm pretty convinced he'll skip the crawling stage altogether. He adores music and gets really excited anytime Emma walks in the room. He also loves the cat and dog and eats anything we give him. He's sleeping through the night with two solid naps during the day. No teeth yet. He's a major flirt. Just your standard cuteness.

Heather did a beautiful job planning my Dad's 79th birthday party. My brother Bill managed to get in touch with my Dad's friends going all the way back to college and Vietnam. He set it up so they could call and give him their regards. Heather and Steve put together a slide show of his life and we watched a projection of that during dinner. I'm pretty sure my Dad did actually feel like a King for a day.

Love,
Janet, Trenton, Emma, and Ben
