We went for a drive today through the mountains to take in the view of the changing leaves. On our way home we were passing those beautiful homes, with rolling lawns, near the Broadmoor. There was this winding, gravel road that led to a farmhouse and an old wooden fence surrounding the home with ivy that had already been touched by Autumn. The leaves were sunset orange, red, and a deep, eggplant purple. Just as we were passing this road, a breeze rustled the leaves on the large oak trees hovering over us and carried them effortlessly to the ground. Trenton put his hand out the window to feel the crisp air and said with pure excitement, "It's Autumn." So break out your sweaters, pumpkin candies, and apple cider. After all, Autumn is the year's last, loveliest smile.
Yesterday we went to Hayden's 7th birthday party. It was at the YMCA and they had one of those blow-up castles. The kids played in it off and on, but it was the adults that had the most fun. I'm sure the people that worked there were so nervous the whole time we were jumping in it. I was nervous! Every time I heard any sound even remotely close to a pop I got off that thing so fast. Emma had a blast.
Love,
Janet, Trenton, Emma, and Gary
