The week before the world shut down because of the novel Coronavirus, we enjoyed seeing the play "Annie" at Emma's school. She helped create the set and was a backstage worker. It was adorable seeing her work so hard and be so excited about a job well done. We also got some new furniture for our family room and completely renovated the powder room on the main level of our house. It kept us busy as everything was falling apart around us.

Lyla's 8th Birthday
We celebrated Lyla's 8th birthday by getting pedicures and having a tea party with her little friends. Bubbling, excited, cheerful girls at tea parties are an adorable sight. We had a fun day. Since my mom's birthday lands on the day before Lyla's, we also celebrated her 79th. My happiest feeling in the world is knowing that I'm part of her. My whole life she has had this magical ability to look into me and see something worthwhile and unconditionally deserving of love, especially when I couldn't. I love you mom- thank you for never telling my siblings that I'm your favorite.
Lyla's Baptism
The baby of our family was surrounded by so much love as she was baptized. I have never seen her so giddy and full of light. I'm thankful for our tribe. Lyla really needed some emotional reinforcement and our people definitely stepped up. She was baptized on February 28, 2020. On February 28, 2004, my brother Doug entered the baptismal waters with my future husband. 16 years later on the same day, my husband baptized my last baby. It was a very special evening and I hope she carries those memories with her the rest of her life.
