Before Breakfast...

I am actually in a hurry to get to my parents' house for my Dad's homemade waffles, but I wanted to quickly upload some pictures before I just never get around to it. Life has been good around here. Trenton has been working his behind off at HP and also around the city taking care of lawns for extra money. I am grateful to have a man who is so willing to do so much for his family. I am in awe of his energy as he gets home from a full day at work and then heads out to do some intense physical labor. Although these days, I am envious of anyone who can climb a set of stairs without losing his/her breath. I have continued teaching lessons throughout the summer which has done wonders for my morale. I find that I don't wallow nearly as much when I'm busy doing something I enjoy. Emma has been so much fun. She is a powerhouse of energy and is beginning to use more and more words to define her world. I just took her to the doctor and she is in the 15th percentile for weight and 75th for height...Lucky girl! He commented on her mouth full of teeth and was (at least I think) impressed by her ability to properly name most of her body parts as he evaluated them. Her favorites these days? "Playing" the piano, going to the park, reading books, and climbing. I never thought I'd use the words so soon, "Emma, get off the table!" As far as the little man growing in my stomach, he seems to be happy and well. I am being treated for Gestational Diabetes, which involves testing my blood several times a day and sticking to a meal plan. The only difference with my eating is that they have me eating more and more regularly throughout the day...I feel better than I have in years (and I'm not even being sarcastic!)

Our sister-in-law Patti is expecting her first little boy any day now. We threw a shower in her honor a couple weekends ago and it was fun to have Trenton's Aunt Chary and Uncle Gary, and cousin Ali come in for the fun.
Emma has started to throw real tantrums! I actually caught the progression on camera. She always puts her hands over her eyes and stands there silently for about 30 seconds. Then come the waterworks...Trenton has been working really hard to get in shape. To date he has lost 27 pounds (which is ironic to me because that's the exact amount I've gained so far during this pregnancy!) Emma has been enjoying it as well because she gets to go with Daddy on his runs.

And here I am at 31 weeks in all my pregnant glory. I can't believe I'm finally in the home stretch!

Have a Happy Fourth of July!
Love,
Janet, Trenton, Emma, Baby, and Gary
